SAFEMOON security check: the owner has no powers.
GoPlus, the security scanner behind DexScreener's "Go+ Security" box, lists 0 risky items and 0 attention items for the SAFEMOON contract. DexScreener still shows one issue: "Ownership renounced: No". Here's what that means, with links to check every part yourself.
GoPlus security check

- No blacklist
- No whitelist
- Not a honeypot: anyone can sell
- Anyone can buy
- No trading cooldown
- No hidden owner
- No way to take ownership back

- No outside calls that could block trading
Why DexScreener says "Ownership renounced: No"
DexScreener's box takes the contract's owner address from GoPlus, and only says "renounced" when there's no owner address, or it's the zero address. SAFEMOON's owner field holds the wallet that launched the token on Argus (the launchpad), 0xa209…7e3e, so it shows "No".
As of 4 October 2026, that's the only issue it lists. Every other line in the box is clean, and the second scanner on DexScreener, Quick Intel, shows "No issues".
Why it doesn't matter here
Renouncing ownership is how a team gives up its powers over a token. SAFEMOON's contract never gave its owner any. There's no function the owner can use to mint tokens, change the tax, pause trading, blacklist wallets, change balances or upgrade the code. GoPlus checks for exactly these and finds none: its own report shows 0 risky items and 0 attention items.
The token's verified code says it plainly, in the comment on its owner line:
/// @dev 🔴 A LABEL, NOT A ROLE. Nothing in this contract is gated on it:
/// … no `renounce` (there is nothing to renounce) and no mint. …
address public owner;
There's also no function to hand ownership over or give it up, so the owner field can never be emptied: it simply records who launched the token. That wallet holds 0 SAFEMOON. Every token launched from the same Argus contract, over 178,000 of them, records its launcher this way, so other Argus tokens show the same line on DexScreener too.
What's fixed for good
- The 10% tax is set in the pool's hook contract, which caps it at 10% and has no function to change it.
- The 60/30/10 split (burn, holders, liquidity) is fixed in the tax distributor. None of the tax goes to the team: the creator's share is 0%.
- The liquidity is held by a locker with no withdraw function, so nobody can pull it.
- The token has no mint, pause or blacklist function and can't be upgraded.
Why GoPlus shows a 0% tax
GoPlus checks the token contract, and SAFEMOON's tax isn't in the token: the pool's hook charges the 10% on every buy and sell. So GoPlus shows 0%, while the tax is real and fixed at 10%. See where it goes on the Tax flow page.
